Raven&Scott Art Show Fundraiser!
We are Raven Amos & Scott Elyard - and we are artists ! Our passion is to create stylistic and unique interpretations of long-extinct critters and their habitats, blending science with imagination. Over the past decade , we have put together (and participated in) several art exhibitions up here in Alaska, mainly in Anchorage and the Valley , all done with help and support from our fans, friends, and family. Several works from these shows have been subsequently donated to charity fundraisers and auctions, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation .
This year, we wish to continue our tradition, and give back even more to our community with two new art shows in Anchorage, AK! First up is a more "traditional" show for us, "Gallimaufric Science" opening very soon for First Friday May 2018 at Cafe D'Arte's Dimond location at 223 E Dimond Blvd (King's Row Shopping Center at King St. and Dimond).
(UPDATED 9/1/2018): Initially we'd planned on doing a completely different, Halloween-themed art show called "All Hallow's Eve" at our favorite chocolate lounge, Modern Dwellers - however, we were saddened to hear of their unexpected permanent shuttering on Sept. 8th, a month before our planned show was set to open. Thanks to the owner of Modern Dwellers, we now have a new venue at Indigo Tea Lounge (530 E Benson Blvd, Unit 8, Anchorage, AK) with a decision to continue under the "Gallimaufric Science" banner.
We work primarily in digital format, and as a result, creating new art is only half the battle - we need to print our pieces out to share them! This campaign seeks to cover the hanging equipment and printing costs of our new artwork for both shows.
Additionally, we hope to help cover the cost of new prescription eyewear for both of us. It has been a long time since either one of us has been able to afford an eye exam, and Scott especially needs a new pair of bifocals to replace his current pair of glasses, which are broken and his prescription is over 7 years out-of-date.
We love to put on these shows, and your contributions carry us every year towards greater success. We love being able to give back to the community by donating the resulting artwork to local charities, and paying forward the generosity of our contributors.
This year especially, we would appreciate your help in not only letting others see our work, but by helping us quite literally see better with eye exams and new glasses.
